"I have a raccoon that is living outside my home in the sewer drain. It has not gotten in my house that I know of but it is really active at night and comes in my front and back yard. I see it walk my fence at night. We have a cat and the neighbors have small animals as well so I am worried. He has yet to get in my trash but I think it is only a matter of time. I have seen some digging by my house in the dirt as well but am not sure if that is from the raccoon. How much would it be for someone to trap and take the raccoon away?"

Raccoon droppings are similar in size and appearance to dog droppings. They may contain parasites or bacteria that can be transmitted to humans or to pets. Clean up should be performed by a professional with proper safety equipment. If the feces and urine are in the attic, it may be necessary to replace part or all of the insulation. |

"This question is actually for a friend. She had a family of raccoons in her house they were removed. The next day she opened it up to air things out and a baby raccoon that was left behind got into her bedroom and now there is a really bad smell. They have shampooed and it still stinks. Is there anything she can use that will get rid of the smell?"

"I have a couple or a few raccoons that visit my yard probably once every couple days looking for cat food. We have quit feeding the cat very often outside in order to deter the raccoons but I guess when they have nowhere else to turn, they stop by hoping maybe we have some food for them.
